Audio options for book lovers

I love books and have a lot of books at home – in fact we seem to be running out of space. As a solution to space issues, I resorted to buying ebooks. Then, I found, that, I was not sparing enough time to read books. I heard / read somewhere that CEOs are voracious readers (average 50 to 60 books / year). That’s like Wow – even though I don’t know whether this is helpful for the company or good for the CEO, and, may, even be open to debate.

I found myself wondering how to read a few books! (If a CEO can so can I!)

While browsing, I came across some interesting options to “hear” books. After some research, here are the options I am trying:

MentorBox (Read like a CEO):

Founders – Dr. Alex Mehr, Tai Lopez.

COO-Jonathon Kendall

MentorBox actually try to get the authors (in many cases) to talk about their books which is great. Fantastic idea. Typically, you get Physical book (only with Physical Box), video, audio, summary, discussions, todo workbooks – really nice. There are other offerings too from MentorBox which may be interesting.

MentorBox offerings:

Physical Box: Physical book + video / online resources. You get the physical book also. Nice way to start a collection.

Online subscription: video / online resources

Website: https://www.mentorbox.com/

Blinkist : they give audio summary of books. The summaries are typically of 15-min duration. Nice. They have many books.

Audible: by Amazon. I think this is the full blown audio version of the book. Cool. Amazon has I think tapped a gold-mine again. I think, the best would be when you use this in combination with the e-book or actual physical book.

I have online subscriptions to all three above offerings – hoping to refocus on getting the most out of books (i.e. get back to reading habit), trying to understand the thought process of the author and improve the self.

Starting out with MentorBox, Blinkist & Audible, and, may try out others also later…

I shall definitely post my experiences. And if I bump into an author at an event or elsewhere, I think I shall say “I hear you”!
